I am new to trading futures and options, I wondered if options are resolved for the future in the same manner as options at the end of the term. For example, I sell 3 12,000 SPM8 requests that will expire in a month. The options expire worthless on the date of expiry, provided that the future price is less than 12,000?

I assume you are talking to 1200 from the S & P 500 call is a zero to 12,000.
Index futures, all options "American." It is to be exercised on any day, finally, the underlying Index Contracts. So, yes, if the futures price is lower due to strike, should not be exercised against and that the option expires worthless.
